  • The next generation Bridgestone Potenza Sport provides top performance and outstanding control
  • The new Potenza Sport is the result of extensive market research: the input from over 3,800 drivers allowed Bridgestone to engineer a high-performance tyre that meets driver needs and expectations.
  • Custom-developed versions of Potenza Sport can already be found on the Maserati MC20, Lamborghini Huracán STO and BMW 8 series.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport, the new, premium ultra-high-performance sports tyre, is here to keep drivers across Middle East and Africa region in control while unlocking the full performance of their vehicle.

Already chosen by prestigious car brands, including Maserati for its MC20 supercar, Lamborghini for the Huracán STO and BMW for the 8 series, with many more to come, Potenza Sport builds on Bridgestone’s long legacy of expertise in high performance to deliver a new excellence in sports tyres that provides leading performance and outstanding control.

Best-in-class performance in the dry1

Building on Bridgestone’s long heritage in Formula One racing and its long-term partnerships with some of the world’s leading high-performance car manufacturers, the new Potenza Sport is the company’s next-generation, flagship sports tyre.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport provides best-in-class performance in the dry.1 TÜV SÜD, the widely-respected, independent automotive testing institute, named Bridgestone Potenza Sport the best performer in dry braking, and the best at keeping a vehicle stable while travelling both in a straight line and through a curve, over premium tyres from other manufacturers.1

Bridgestone Potenza Sport is also engineered to go further for longer, providing higher mileage than its predecessor, the Potenza S001.2

Created with real drivers to meet real expectations

The tyre’s development began with a market research project that involved over 3,800 drivers from across the globe. Each driver was asked what they expect from a high performance tyre and to share their daily driving challenges. They revealed the control and confidence they expect to receive from a high-performance tyre, expectations Bridgestone have now met through the Potenza Sport.

Bridgestone has applied various new and innovative technology packages in tread pattern, compound and construction to give the Bridgestone Potenza Sport its premium performance capabilities. The tyre’s tread design applies several new cutting-edge technologies to improve braking and abrasion resistance; the optimised compound helps to give Potenza Sport its leading performance in the dry and outstanding control in the wet.

To help with the design and development of the Potenza Sport, Bridgestone used its timesaving and environmentally friendly virtual tyre development technology. The technology creates a digital twin of the tyre in the development phase, which saves around 200 tyres from being produced in every single project it’s applied to and can cut product development time by up to 50 per cent.

Stefano Sanchini, Regional Managing Director, Bridgestone Middle East and Africa, said: “We are thrilled to introduce the new Potenza Sport, which is set to bring more excitement to sports cars afficionados in the region. Bridgestone focused on delivering the safety and high- performance capability of the tyres, which were made and tested under the highest quality standards for precision, control, and stability while in high-speed driving. We are confident that Potenza Sport will be highly appreciated as well by car owners who value the ultimate driving experience.”

Developed and manufactured in Europe, Bridgestone Potenza Sport is on the market now and will be available in 96 sizes – from 17’’ to 22” – by March 2021, covering a wide range of passenger cars and on-road SUVs, ranging from premium sedans and SUVs to luxury and prestige cars.
